The calling song of M. medvedevi is produced continuously over several minutes (longest uninterrupted recording lasts for 13 min). During this time groups of 5 (4–6) syllables (echemes) follow each other in a dense sequence (Fig. 7A). Within an echeme, the first three syllables are soft, the last two increasing in amplitude with the last one being the loudest. The opening hemisyllables are always much shorter than the closing hemisyllables and do not increase in acoustic intensity towards the end of the echeme. At the beginning of the singing activity, some isolated echemes were observed. Then the intervals became continuously shorter, until after some time the typical rhythm [echeme repetition rate 3.7±0.27 Hz (n=10 measurements, taken in intervals at least of 1 min) at 28oC] was reached. The animal was observed singing during daytime when it was also recorded.

Counts are recordings at or below each taxon, so an empty branch shows as empty before you click it. A dash means the join view holds no column for that rank and cannot roll up to it.
The rows audioBlast holds for this taxon, each matched to the same Catalogue of Life node. Where a source classifies it differently, its own classification is kept.
