Ventura Co ., Mt Pinos , same information as holotype except 27-vi-2021 (S21-9) A. Abela ♀ 2. Drum. Calling drum similar in both sexes except female’s series is longer. Male: Holotype R20-2 (Fig. 1161) 20 drums over 2.2s (9.1 drums/s) at 22.5°. Paratype male R96-30 (Fig. 1162) with 68 drums over 7.1s (9.6 drums/s) at 20.5°C. Female: Allotype R21-1 (Fig. 1163) 210 drums over 24.8s (8.1 drums/s) at 23°C. Paratype female Frazier Park (S96-72), R96-50 (Fig. 1164) 297 drums over 41.0s (7.2 drums/s) at 19.5°C. Derivation of name. Named after the type locality. Habitat. To oatmeal trail at night ( type locality S20-3); Jeffrey and Ponderosa pine forest under logs in shallow draws (S96-72). Conifer-woodland elsewhere. Life cycle and seasonal occurrence. Apparent 2-year typical life cycle. Variation. From 6 individuals, 4 had 2 and 2 had 3 ventral fore leg tibial spurs; all 6 had 8 middle leg tibial calcars, with 2 ventral spurs; all 6 had 5 inner rear leg tibial spines, and all had 3 outer rear leg tibial spines, and all with 2 ventral spurs. DNA . Fig. 1047, p. 579. F0269 (S96-72, Frazier Park); F2619 & F2641 (both type locality S20-3, Mt Pinos) all recovered in Group 20 Fast Drumming, a poorly supported clade with other fast drumming species from various Southern California localities: A. acton , A. bakersfield , A. chimineas , and A. grapevine (2n ♂ = 25 in latter) in same subclade. Karyotype. 2n ♂ =23. T21-8 (Fig. 1165, type locality S21-9) examined with 6 metacentric or submetacentric autosomal pairs; 5 acrocentric or telocentric autosomal pairs; and 1 metacentric X chromosome. Discussion. The type locality of A. mtpinos is some 19 km from the A. grapevine paratype locality (S92-31) along I-5.

Counts are recordings at or below each taxon, so an empty branch shows as empty before you click it. A dash means the join view holds no column for that rank and cannot roll up to it.
