Remarks.—As outlined above, Chremistica elenae was considered to have been described simultaneously with the subspecies Chremistica elenae madagascariensis . The specimens, description and drawings used by Boulard (2001) to distinguish Chremistica elenae madagascariensis are applied here to Orientafroinsularis elenae n. comb. A species described as uniformly castaneous marked with tawny. It is the second smallest Madagascar species in the genus with a body length of 24 mm and a wingspan of 66.2 mm ( Boulard 2001 ). The size and coloration quickly distinguish it from the remaining species of the genus in Madagascar . The song begins as a constant buzzing becoming a series of rapid syllables with peak frequency about 10 kHz ( Boulard 2001 ). Distribution.—The species is known only from Madagascar ( Metcalf 1963a ; Sanborn 2013 ). The species is only known from the type locality of the dry forest of Ampijora, Madagascar ( Boulard 2001 ).
