SIGNALS. The male calling signal is a phrase lasting for 17–20 s and consisting of two parts ( Figs 69–70 ). The first part has a duration of about 7 s. It consists of several syllables, each beginning with a sequence of low-amplitude pulses partially merged with each other and following with a period of 8–9 ms, and ending with one or two high-amplitude pulses ( Fig. 71 , the first half of the oscillogram). The second part of a phrase is a sequence of high-amplitude syllables, following with a period of about 0.7 s at the beginning and up to 1.5 s at the end of the sequence ( Figs 71–72 ). At the beginning of the sequence between the main syllables there are sometimes additional short syllables or separate pulses. The pulse repetition period in main syllables averages 45–80 ms.
Counts are recordings at or below each taxon, so an empty branch shows as empty before you click it. A dash means the join view holds no column for that rank and cannot roll up to it.
The rows audioBlast holds for this taxon, each matched to the same Catalogue of Life node. Where a source classifies it differently, its own classification is kept.
