Ragge & Reynolds (1998) recorded male calling songs, produced during sunny days, consisting of very brief echemes. The specimens were collected in Spain (León, Orense). In Portugal (Serra do Alvão), males were sampled which produced either short echemes (with 6-7 or 9-11 syl- lables) or echemes with 14-16 syllables ( g. 5). This calling behaviour was individual-speci c and temperature dependant, occuring only around noon. The echemes were repeated at intervals of 6-8s. The oscillograph- ic analysis showed that each echeme begins with increasingly loud and short syllables (opening hemisyllables). Only the last 2-3 were diplosyl- lables, with very brief closing hemisyllables followed immediately by a longer diplosyllable, in which the closing stroke is three times longer than the opening stroke. in all cases, only the long echemes were fol- lowed by one, or two, diplosyllables after short intervals of about 0.5-1 s.

Counts are recordings at or below each taxon, so an empty branch shows as empty before you click it. A dash means the join view holds no column for that rank and cannot roll up to it.
The rows audioBlast holds for this taxon, each matched to the same Catalogue of Life node. Where a source classifies it differently, its own classification is kept.
