description · Plazi

Description. Chromatic pattern. Body finely covered with bristles, with orange-toned macrosetae and whitish microsetae. In life, overall coloration vivid light green, with a lateral stripe extending from the pronotum to the apex of the tegmina and the end of the abdomen. Hind wing, when at rest, with the exposed portion orangish, formed by the cells of the radial branch. Eyes with a scarlet red color.Antennae of the same orangish tone as the last three maxillary palpomeres, last labial palpomeres, tibiae, tarsi, post-tarsi, and the exposed portion of the hind wings. Cerci emerald green with an orange apex ( Figs. 1A–E ). Due to contact with alcohol, the general coloration became yellowish, with variations in tone ranging from lighter to darker yellow ( Figs. 2A–C ). Head small and oval ( Fig. 2D ); antennal scape robust and long, almost as long as an eye ( Fig. 2D ); eyes taller than wide; maxillary palp with the first two palpomeres almost equal in length, the third longer than the first two combined, the fourth as long as the first two combined, and the fifth slightly longer than the fourth, conical, widened posteriorly, and with apex truncated ( Figs. 2H–I ); labial palps with the three palpomere almost equal in length, but with the last notably expanded posteriorly, roundly truncated ( Figs. 2J–K ). Pronotum longer than wide in dorsal view, almost as tall as long in lateral view, and covered with fine bristles ( Figs. 2A, D ). Wings. Tegmina distinctly setose and smaller than the hindwings; stridulatory apparatus absent ( Figs. 1A–E , 2A–C ). Hindwings with a conspicuous, reticulated, and setose area in the remigium region, in the radial branch, near the apex ( Fig. 2E ). Legs . First pair of legs more robust than the second ( Figs. 3A–B ), with femora longer than tibiae and a very wide tympanal opening on the inner surface of tibiae ( Fig. 3B ). Second pair of legs more slender, with tibiae longer than femora ( Figs. 3C–D ). Hind legs with a robust femur, almost as long as the tibia; tibiae with three pairs of intercalated mid-distal dorsal spurs, three very reduced apical outer spurs ( Fig. 3E ), one very reduced inner dorso-apical spur, and two more elongated mid and ventral apical spurs ( Fig. 3D ). Abdomen cylindrical, with very long cerci, almost as long as the abdomen, reaching the apex of the hindwings ( Figs. 2A–C ); thenth tergite conical, with a distinct convex posterior margin; subgenital plate short, almost as long as wide, with a posterior margin gently convex, narrowing towards the apex in ventral view ( Fig. 2F ), and longer than tall in lateral view, somewhat triangular ( Fig. 2G ). Phallic complex. In dorsal and ventral views, pseudepiphallic apical lobes rounded-truncated, separated by a narrow incision, with a wide outer margin and flattening centrally. In lateral view, pseudepiphallic apical lobes' dorsal margins slightly convex, with rounded apex. Pseudepiphallic paramere nearly inconspicuous. Pseudepiphallic apodeme, in dorsal and ventral views, long, longer than half of the ectophallic apodeme length, and sinuous. Ectophallic fold lanceolate, elongated, and extending longitudinally to the phallus median region. Ectophallic apodeme narrow, elongate, with internal curvature toward the median axis. Endophallic sclerite with three discontinuous parts. Central portion oval, and the lateral branches project laterally (forming endophallic apodemes). Ejaculatory vesicles broad, rounded, and positioned proximally. Female. Unknown
