The calling song of the recorded male consisted of a long, uninterrupted sequence of pairs of syllables (Fig. 6; syllable repetition rate 80 Hz, repetition rate of syllable pairs 29.4 Hz; time of recording 11:44 am; duration of recording 57 s; T = 27. 5 ◦ C, animal possibly in sun). The song could not be heard with the unaided ear, its main components being in the ultrasonic range with a peak frequency at 21 kHz (range 10 dB below peak 20–29 kHz). Weak sound signals were observed in the record of another species from this site, which may indicate the presence of a short-song also in C. pseudomeruensis (see C. serengeti).
