description · Plazi

Description of song: Chorthippus bornhalmi male calling song generally consists of a polysyllabic phrase ( Fig. 16 B). The calling song usually lasts for 2–8 s. The phrase generally begins quietly and the maximum intensity is usually reached in the 1/4 or 1/3 part of the phrase ( Fig. 16 B); however, in some of the songs there is often a more gradual crescendo which occasionally lasts about half of the phrase. Syllable numbers vary from 12 to 32 in a phrase ( Fig. 16 B). The duration of syllables generally changes between 95 and 124 ms ( Figs. 16 C–D). Published song data, used for comparison : Şirin et al. 2010 .

Counts are recordings at or below each taxon, so an empty branch shows as empty before you click it. A dash means the join view holds no column for that rank and cannot roll up to it.
