( Figures 2 C–D; 3B, D, F, I, L; 4A–C, I; 5A) Male Body size medium. Head ovoid. Fastigium verticis fine, narrower than scape of antennae, with weak dorsal sulcus, not contacting fastigium frontis. Eyes ovoid, conspicuously protruding. Anterior margin of pronotum concave, posterior margin obtusely rounded and slightly elevated, middle transverse sulcus v-shaped, lateral margin rounded and without lateral carinae; lateral lobe longer than high, humeral sinus indistinct. Tegmen with costal edge convex, anal edges almost straight, apex rounded, distinctly surpassing apex of posterior femur; radial vein of tegmen with single radius sector located in about middle of tegmina, and with three other, more or less subparallel branches behind radius sector; left tegmen with stridulatory vein stout, semicircular cell and additional longitudinal vein in more distal part of stridulatory area, right tegmen with mirror rounded; with a large transparent area and additional longitudinal vein. Hind wings slightly longer than tegmina by about 4 mm . Procoxa unarmed, protibiae with auditory tympana open on both sides, with one internal and one to three external dorsal spines, six internal and five external ventral spines; mesotibiae with eight internal and eight or nine external ventral spines, five internal and one external dorsal spines; metatibiae with seven or eight internal and seven to ten external ventral spines, 21–22 internal and 19–21 external dorsal spines. All femora dorsally smooth, and ventrally with longitudinal groove, without spines on both dorsal and ventral sides; all genicular lobes with one or two spines. Tenth abdominal tergite broad, apical margin slightly concave in middle. Epiproct small triangular. Cercus long and cylindrical, curved interno-upwards, reaching apex of subgenital plate, basal part thick, gradually narrowing to distal part, widened before apex as rounded tubercle, apex with a pair of sclerotized forcipate spines. Genitalia with a pair of long lobes, membranous ( Figure 4B ). Subgenital plate long, lateral areas upcurved from base to more than middle, apical lobes short, apical notch rounded, without styli. Female Similar to male in general appearance. Projecting part of wing shorter than in male ( c . 2 mm ). Cerci conical. Ovipositor short, curved upward, dorsal margin and apex of ventral margin serrulate; gonangulum broad, inferior valves with process at base; subgenital plate almost triangular, with small apical notch. Colouration Overall colour green. Eyes brown. Antennae dark brown with sparse white annulation. Dorsum of occiput, disc of pronotum dark brown, dorsal part of left tegmen brown. Tegmina green with brown veins, and some brown spots in cells. Legs yellow or yellowish green. Cerci yellowish brown; apical spines brown. Measurements (mm) Length of body: male 18.0, female 18.5; length of body and wing: male 32.0, female 32.5; length of pronotum: male 4.7, female 5.5; width of pronotum: male 2.2, female 2.0; length of tegmen: male 22.0, female 22.7; largest width of tegmen: male 6.5, female 6.0; length of anterior femur: male 7.5, female 8.5; length of middle femur: male 9.5, female 10.0; length of posterior femur: male 19.5, female 19.5; length of body and ovipositor: 25.0; length of ovipositor 7.0; largest width of ovipositor 2.5; length of cercus: male 5.5; length of subgenital plate: male 4.5. Type material Holotype : male, Fanjingshan , Guizhou , 28 July 2001 , collected by Shi Fu-Ming. Paratypes : two males, 29 July 2001 ; one female, 30 July 2001 ; one female and three males, 3 August 2001 , other data same to holotype . Discussion The new species resembles A. macrocaudata sp. nov. in size and appearance, and female ovipositor with small process at base of inferior valves ( Figure 3I ). It is distinguished by the male cercus with a pair of forcipate spines at apex ( Figure 4A ), and by the subgenital plate having the apical lobes parallel in male ( Figure 4C ). Etymology The new species is named for the distinct shape of the apex of the male’s cercus. Distribution China ( Guizhou , only known from the type locality) .
Counts are recordings at or below each taxon, so an empty branch shows as empty before you click it. A dash means the join view holds no column for that rank and cannot roll up to it.
The rows audioBlast holds for this taxon, each matched to the same Catalogue of Life node. Where a source classifies it differently, its own classification is kept.
